In March 2023, Alliance for Finance Monitoring (ACFIM) joined other members of the Global Democracy Forum in organizing the Pre-second Summit for Democracy Africa Citizens Summit in defense of Democracy. The pre-S4D2 took place on Partners for Democracy Day March 27-28, 2023, in Lusaka Zambia. A communique was produced at the end of the summit, urging African governments to commit to standardizing legal frameworks on political financing to promote accountability and transparency in financing political parties, election campaigns, and referenda.
